The Cabot

A Look At One of The Largest Performing Arts Center — The Cabot

Founded in 1920, in downtown Beverly area, The Cabot is now considered a North Shore Treasure. Striving to provide the public with unlimited access to not just art, but also the art process and the artists themselves, this incredible venue is an amazing place to experience a wide range of contemporary art forms from music to visual to performances and film. The Cabot hosts live shows featuring media artists, choreographers, storytellers, and more than 100 nights every year.

The Cabot’s Design

Designed by the architects of the Dorchester’s Strand Theater, Olympia Theater, and Boston’s Athenaeum, the futuristic building and the surging roof can only be compared to the spaceship. Stepping into the theater's plaza is like walking into a cave, where a wavy ceiling drops to the floor.

Inside, visitors will find incredible performances spaces, which cater to different arts. The 890-seat theater swathed in brown is one of the largest in Massachusetts and is equipped with the most recent state-of-the-art technology for a variety of products ranging from operas to dances. Then there is a Concert Hall, where tiered seats encircle the stage, providing perfect views and sounds at all positions in addition to crafting a highly intimate ambiance despite the fact that it can hold over 800 guests.

Big Flexible Space

There’s also a very flexible space that can be easily configured to either a thrust stage or proscenium and is mainly used for dance and live drama performances. Besides the hall that’s outfitted with adjustable sound absorption to comfortably accommodate different music genres, Beverly’s incredible new playhouse, stands out as the finest performing arts center available in New York. Adjacent to The Cabot, there’s a perfect spot for you to admire and watch the sunset when there is no live performance-taking place.

In the next few months, available programs include Valentines Day With Juanito Pascual, Heavy Metal Horns, Roman Holiday, Marblehead’s Got Talent 2022, Dune, Postponed Arrival From Sweden, Eaglemania: The Worlds Greatest Eagles Tribute, FC Academy Winter Filmmaking, Power Of The Dog, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and more. But for those who for one reason or another cannot stop by The Cabot for a live show, visitors can wander around the theater's public spaces during the day and enjoy the remarkable architecture.

While in Beverly, also pass by the North Shore Music Theater, which has been transformed by both local and international artists into a creative center for eclectic pop-up events and public installations.
